Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Thank you for using Dictantor.
Your privacy is a core part of how Dictantor is designed. The app follows a local-first approach, meaning your recordings and notes stay on your device whenever possible.
Information we collect
Dictantor does not require an account and does not collect personal information.
We do not collect:
• Your name • Email address • Location • Contacts • Usage analytics • Advertising identifiers
Your recordings
Audio recordings, transcripts, summaries, and generated titles are stored locally on your device.
Dictantor does not upload your recordings to external servers.
On-device processing
Recording, transcription, search, automatic titles, and supported AI features are processed directly on your device.
Some AI features are available only on devices that support Apple Intelligence.
Permissions
Dictantor may request access to:
Microphone
Used to record audio.
Notifications
Used to notify you when transcription has finished.
You can revoke these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Data storage
All data is stored locally on your device until you delete it.
Deleting a recording permanently removes its associated audio, transcript, summary, and metadata from the app.
Third-party services
The current version of Dictantor does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or cloud storage services.
If future versions introduce optional cloud-based AI features, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those features become available.
Children’s privacy
Dictantor is not intended for children under the age of 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page.
